Sophie comes to a conclusion about her place in this world, and it is amazing to see. Her emotional journey is the best part of the book, as the reader sees Sophie grappling with normal teenage problems, such as romantic entanglements and pernicious friendships, but also how to fit into a seemingly “perfect world” where classism, racism, and nepotism are very prevalent. Shannon Messenger’s Stellarlune is well worth the wait, as the reader grows alongside Sophie, seeing her transformation from a timid girl hiding behind her hair to a fearless leader who is not afraid to speak about her broken world and how to fix it. ![]() Learning to manage her heart and her head is no easy task for a telepath, especially when the fate of the elven world is on her shoulders. Regardless of social status, race, and talent, she must tackle every issue her broken world faces. She has to contend with runaway friends, new feelings, and trauma as she paves the way for a better world for all elves. Sophie Foster has just stepped up the game, heightening the stakes of her new world. ![]()
